Restore

Restoring a backup is very straight forward. However there are some general principles to understand to avoid problems.

We save the backup file in a format where the full path names of every file is saved. This means that when restoring you do not have to worry about what files go where but can simply restore the entire file.

This means however that you CANNOT restore a file saved using XP to a Vista machine as the locations will NOT match. In these circumstances you should contact Ambrit Software for further advice.

The restore function is available from the top File menu.

Restore

It has been designed to be a very simple and automated process. A manual process is available if needed although NOT recommended.

The restore screen is shown below:

Restore Files

If this has been called from the Backup Archive facility then the fields will have been pre filled and the restore will have started automatically.

Otherwise note how the Restore To field has been pre filled for you. We do not recommend you change this.

Now select the backup you wish to restore from by clicking on the button to the right of the Zip Archive Name and when satisfied this is correct click Start. You will be prompted to confirm this action.
